The national flower of Fiji is the Tagimaucia (scientific name: Mussaenda erythrophylla). It is a species of flowering shrub native to the island country, and is also commonly known as the "Fijian Flame Tree". It is a member of the Rubiaceae family and grows to heights of up to 8 feet. The Tagimaucia blooms year-round in Fiji, making it one.

The Tagimaucia occurs within dense forest from an elevation of 660-1241m. It creeps along the canopy of the forest, with its flowers hanging down when in bloom. Unlike other vines such as the invasive Merremia peltata, the Tagimoucia neither smothers its host plant nor is it parasitic. The Tagimaucia is not a threat to the survival of the host.

Not many Fijians have seen a tagimaucia, beloved as the national flower of their island nation.This is not surprising as the tagimaucia (Medinilla waterhousei) is a creeper that races to the top of the rainforest canopy on mountain tops in Taveuni, Fiji's third largest island.
